How much stock does a new mobile counter actually need?

The honest answer is less than most first-time retailers buy. A working starting range across phones, audio and charging, and why depth in one model is the expensive mistake.

Most people opening a mobile counter buy too much of too little. Ten pieces of one handset feels like a serious order. It is actually the fastest way to tie up cash in a line that may not move, while a customer walks out because you had no ₹150 cable.

Spread first, depth later

A counter earns on questions it can answer. Someone comes in for a charger, a screen guard, a second phone for a parent, earphones for a commute. Each of those is a different shelf. Your first order should touch every shelf you intend to sell from, at the shallowest depth that lets you display and sell.

Depth comes after, and it comes from evidence: the line you reordered twice in a month is the line worth stocking ten of.

A working first spread

  • Feature phones — two or three models, not one. A single-SIM basic handset, a dual-SIM with a bigger battery, and one with a camera covers nearly every request. See feature phones.
  • Audio — one wired pair at the lowest price point, one neckband, one TWS. Three price steps, so you can always offer up or down. See audio.
  • Charging and cable — this is where the daily footfall is. Type-C and lightning cables, one fast charger, one power bank. See accessories.

Why the minimum is per order, not per line

Our minimum is ₹4,000 across the whole order, not per product. That is deliberate. A per-line minimum would force exactly the mistake above — buying ten of something to unlock a rate. Mixing any lines means you can take one of each of nine things and still clear it.

If you would rather not build that list from nothing, the ready order templates are four starting selections built from lines in stock. Each one clears the minimum on its own, and every quantity is editable before you send it.

What to watch in month one

Keep a note of what people ask for that you did not have. That list is worth more than any advice here — it is your actual catchment telling you what to stock. Bring it to the counter on your second order and we will build around it.

Rates, live stock and the full range are on the price list. Anything you want confirmed before ordering — a model number, what is actually on the shelf today — ask on WhatsApp and we will check it while you wait.
